All About docAlpha 6.4

The docAlpha 6.4 is Artsyl’s intelligent process automation platform and the latest versi’n. We’ll discuss all the new features and how this version will amplify user experience. Artsyl is invested in the development of intelligent automation technologies that help users accelerate mission critical processes necessary to deliver on customer demand.

Manual handling of mission critical tasks is often error-prone and inefficient. Typical back-office functions like accounts payable and sales order processing are laborious and time-consuming, but critical to the appropriate functioning of the overall business and timely meeting of customer expectations. Companies get consumed by the sheer volume of paperwork required to implement mission critical operations, often leaving little time and effort for more important, strategic growth initiatives.

Artsyl helps businesses shift focus from mundane, repetitive paperwork in the back-office and invest in long-term revenue building. Artsyl’s platform solutions, built on top of its intelligent automation platform docAlpha, help accelerate document-intensive processes including accounts payable, sales order processing, medical claims processing, and mailroom operations. By streamlining these processes, which are traditionally paper-driven and manual, Artsyl is helping companies lower operating and labor costs.

Built for the User

docAlpha 6.4 is built for the user. Artsyl regularly incorporates a lot of the feedback and requirements it gets from its significant customer base into its new version releases. This time too, many of the advanced upgrades and feature enhancements in docAlpha have been made to increase ease-of-use and enable businesses to perform seamless document processing work. docAlpha performs intelligent automation to execute document-intensive processes including capture, extraction, validation, and verification of data from structured, unstructured, and semi-structured documents.

This digital transformation platform is built on modular architecture, which means users can call independent document processing tasks like data extraction or data validation individually. For instance, by integrating Artsyl with Automation Anywhere RPA software, users will be able to call Artsyl’s data validation capabilities to validate documents in Automation Anywhere workflows itself. This aspect of the platform where users can call on functions separately or in their entirety makes docAlpha a very viable solution for diverse document processing work.

docAlpha differs from other automation software in that the platform combines digital transformation technologies including AI, machine learning, robotic process automation, business process automation, OCR/ICR/OMR, and intelligent data capture. Cognitive technologies like AI and machine learning combined with powerful data capture technology provide the human-like capabilities needed to do the complex and repetitive document processing work. docAlpha’s intelligent document processing capabilities have found application in many different domains including manufacturing, insurance, healthcare, education, transportation, distribution, etc. ’rtsyl’s case studies are a testament to this fact.

User engagement and user experience are at the core of Artsyl’s product development strategies and the new version of docAlpha incorporates a lot of the enhancements that make working with docAlpha a delight.

Built for the User
  1. If the content is already in digital form like say a PDF file or .XML, .CSV, .XLXS, etc., docAlpha now allows automatic import of digital documents without the need to use recognition software. Digital files in any format can be directly browsed and parsed. Even without an out-of-the-box mapper for an incoming document in, say, excel format, docAlpha can digitally digest the file, so users can directly read from the document, browse all kinds of data, and also fill in the fields from the excel file — digitally digest multiple tables of an excel file into fields in a connected business application like a Microsoft Dynamics NAV profile. Direct import of digital files elevates the ease-of-use of docAlpha 6.4 and brings users one step closer to achieving thorough data capture at the source without needing recognition software.
  2. Part of the product upgrades that have been incorporated in docAlpha 6.4 are to do with user convenience in configuring document recognition steps. The architectural changes incorporated in this new version help users quickly configure processing steps — like full page OCR, zonal OCR, text-based or image-base document separation, merging documents, capturing barcodes either fully or zonally, or performing document recognition purely based on docAlpha’s self-learning logic — in any order. Flexibility to configure different processing steps saves the users a lot of time and effort by choosing or adding only those steps that are needed for the job at hand, and deleting unnecessary steps. The new architecture also allows users to configure all necessary steps in a single workflow, saving them the time and costs of executing jobs in different workflows.
  3. docAlpha has the ability to self-learn different document types. Now, this self-learning knowledge can be used to separate documents, giving users more leverage to train and apply docAlpha to document-intensive processes as and how they see fit.
  4. docAlpha is designed to capture diverse document types. Transaction documents come with varying levels of quality of text and images, making it necessary to use different strengths of OCR engines based on the job at hand. docAlpha enables use of different OCR engines, say, of A2iA or Tesseract technology to two different capture definitions within the same workflow, allowing centralized control of data capture in one workflow without double counts or delays.
  5. The new docAlpha is designed to work with complex backends in Acumatica without the need for tons of customizations. No need to develop, test, and run custom rules. The integration with Acumatica will be treated like a data source, and users will be simply querying the Acumtica backend to access whatever data they want.
  6. 6.4 comes with a range of new import and export connectors that can interact seamlessly with docAlpha to process stuff like importing incoming documents without using scan, or map different document types — bills, sales orders, checks, etc. — to a repository in, say, NetSuite.
