Artsyl Reveals Click-Entry Capture: SimpleCapture Platform
Toronto, Canada (November 28, 2007)
If you are familiar with the capture market, you know that there are solutions for pure “data-entry” and solutions for “fully-automated data-entry”. The goal of a capture solution is to reduce the time and cost of taking a document from a scan to usable digital information.
While hand-key data entry is expensive, it’s accurate and safe. Many companies that approach the idea of fully automated document processing run into the concerns associated with false positives and inaccurate extraction, which are simply absent with hand-key data-entry. However, the tremendous ROI potential of a fully automated system will often tip the scales.
Up-front entry cost for a fully automated system is the usual licensing of software plus professional services, which commonly run 2 to 3 times the cost of licensing. The potential of such a system is very high as companies can automatically enter as much as 96% of their documents without any human intervention at any stage. But is this the norm? These systems have been accepted and used extensively for three years, and there is a clear and interesting trend: companies are finding that they have to spend even more on professional services to get their systems up to pay. In addition, a robust QA system is absolutely critical, so that NO false positives are allowed to make it to a backend. For most organizations a false positive is disastrous.
And it is here that we have discovered a gap in the capture solutions market. What is missing is a solution that would combine the accuracy and safety of hand-key entry with the ROI potential of fully automated systems, and allow a more-accurate and less-costly transition path to the holy grail of capture we all dream of.
After more than a year of R&D and market analysis, Artsyl has developed a platform and capture term “Semi-Automated Data Entry”. This platform allows companies to instantly reduce the cost of hand-key entry with the same level of certainty and higher accuracy. The platform requires little or no professional services and, unlike most capture applications, is designed for ease of use.
“We plan to have our first solution in the Semi-Automated Data Entry arena launched on Jan 1, 2007, with a subsequent major release just before AIIM EXPO 2008,” says Chris Riley, head of Artsyl’s Sales and Marketing team. The new solution is guaranteed to change the understanding of the capture market as well as bring to SMB a capture solution that is not cost-prohibitive. Not only is the platform an out-of-the-box solution; it also provides all the necessary setup and training for organizations to automatically switch to a fully automated system with little need for professional services. “We have designed the platform to use the latest technology in adaptive learning, so that the whole time a user leverages semi-automated capture, they are creating a fully-automated capture solution behind the scenes,” says Artur Vassylyev, Artsyl’s Director of Engineering.
Artsyl plans to sell the platform as out-of-the-box vertical solutions. It will be sold through a channel but supported directly by Artsyl staff so as to ensure the latest features and product quality. To find out more about Semi-Automated Capture, contact Artsyl today. Sales@artsyltech.com.
